Fundraising

The CRA has a number of activities throughout
the year with the primary purpose of raising funds to
support our legacy funds and scholarships.
As a registered charity, donations of $2 and
over to the CRA are tax deductible.
The
flagship event for the CRA is the Charity Ball,
held in October of each year. The Ball incorporates the
announcement of the four police officer of the year awards
(Federal Agent of the Year, Community Police Officer of the
Year, Unsworn Member of the Year, and Protective Service
Officer of the Year) which are voted upon by AFP members.
The CRA runs an annual Charity Golf Day,
in memory of Adam Dunning, a Protective Service Officer
killed on duty in The Solomon Islands in December 2004.
Each year, a limited release Constable
Kenny Koala is produced and released at the annual
Charity Ball. These koalas are sold to AFP members and the
public. Other merchandise (including torches and pens) are
available for purchase from the CRA Office.
The CRA is involved in activities surrounding
the National Police Memorial. This includes the distribution
of chequered ribbons for National Police Remembrance Day
which falls on 29 September. |
